Relocate-America.com releases 2008 List of
America’s Top 100 Places to Live
Howell, Mich., June 4, 2008 - - Relocate America.com, an online
service that assist relocating home buyers with community information
and real estate resources has released its 11th annual list of
“America’s Top Places to Live.”
“Our goal for this year’s list is that it educates and inspires
our users whether they’re moving across town or across the U.S.”
said Steve Nickerson, President and CEO. “The thing that sets
our annual list apart is not only so we mine the data but we
also focus heavily on the experiences of people that live there.
The user comments that we receive directly reflect passion, wisdom
and tell the story that the raw data doesn’t.
To make the list a community must be nominated. Relocate-America’s
editorial team reviews each nomination and analyzes the area’s
growth, environmental highlights, educational and employment
opportunities, crime rates and housing options.

| Valdosta, GA, is featured
in Where to Retire magazine |
Valdosta, GA, is featured
in Where to Retire magazine, the
only magazine in America geared to helping people with retirement
relocation decisions, has selected Valdosta, GA, to profile
as a top retirement town in the September/October issue,
which mails to subscribers nationwide on August 1, 2008.
According to Where to Retire editor, Mary
Lou Abbott, Valdosta has many of the qualities that are
important to today’s retirees. “This city in southern Georgia
offers low taxes and plenty of outdoor recreation with
Withlacoochee River, lakes dotting the area and state parks
with walking trails, campsites, and wildlife. Valdosta
State University provides the opportunity to take a variety
of continuing-education courses and hosts multiple cultural
and sporting events, including Peach State Summer Theatre.
Valdosta boasts an abundance of activities around town
with the Senior Citizens Center, Wild Adventures Theme
Park, a regional library, golf courses, the Turner Center
for the Arts and more. And the area will soon have its
first gated community for active adults 55 or better, Southern
Landing,” Abbott said.
Each year, 700,000 Americans move to new
towns to retire. Generally healthier, better-educated and
more affluent retirees who stay put, relocating retirees
bring significant benefits to their new states and hometowns.
Nationally, two dozen states and hundreds of towns seek to
attract retirees as a source of economic development. Where
to Retire magazine was launched in 192 with
the goal of helping its readers find the ideal place to retire.
Now published six times a year, the magazine covers the best
retirement regions, towns, and master-planned communities,
and has a national circulation of 220,000.
The magazine can be found at various newsstands
and www.wheretoretire.com. |
